JV tabs doesn't show any content to choose from

Hello, please help - newly installed latest version JV tabs unable to configure. In the list where it's supposed to show a list of sections/categories/modules to choose from - it doesn't show anything. Please, see picture attached

I have fixed this error, it's because your module/category title have some special chars, I have added htmlspecialchars function to remove it!

I have uploaded fixed file here if any one get this error with ZT Tabs 1.6.1
Please unzip and upload overwrite this ztselection.php file to the folder: mod_zt_tabs/fields/

Hello jazzvox,

I am having the same problem (sections and categories full of articles, but nothing is displayed in the parameters window). - My site is in English and Bulgarian, so there are "special characters" (Cyrillic alphabet). So, I guess the reason is the same as you mention above.

However, I do not understand: I see only a link to a bugfix file for ZT Tabs. Is there another link for JV Tabs? Has it gone lost? Where would I find a bugfix?

Thank you for answering so quickly!

However, I do not understand the answer, obviously. You send me back to the ztselection.php file (packed in the ztselection.zip file) where I started writing you. This is obviously for ZT tabs, not JV Tabs. It is JV Tabs in my Joomla 1.5.xx sites, that troubles me. Accordingly, in the files installed in the system, there is no "mod_zt_tabs/fields/" folder, but a "mod_jv_tabs/elements" folder.

In this folder, there is (as you know) a file called jvselection.php, and I have tried replacing it with the ztselection.php (by renaming this to jvselection.php), just to give it a try and to see what happens, but this does not work really

So, what is the solution? Did I get something wrong?

@Christian - migrate to 1.7.3 is recommended ;-)

Look for the "added htmlspecialchars function"
in ztselection.php and adjust your
jvselection.php, then update...

Or @Linh might offer support for mod_zt_tabs/
(which I don't know, sorry).

Thank you for your advice.

I already tried something like this. I searched the ztselection.php for lines different from those in the jvselection.php, containing the string "htmlspecialchar", and copied them into the jvselection.php at the respective places.

Concretely, I found two such instances:

- line 75-76
$option->position = htmlspecialchars($option->position);
$option->title = htmlspecialchars($option->title);

- line 109
$option->title = htmlspecialchars($option->title);

Their "environment" looked identical in ztselection.php and jvselection.php which encouraged me in believing that this little operation might have success. However, it had not. With the altered jvselection.php, the jvtabs parameters page in the joomla backand comes with an error alert, telling that somewhere something was missing.

After reading your mail I thought I might have missed a function definition in the ztselection.php and checked it again. I did, however, not find any function "htmlspecialchars" there, or anything else containing this string...

What could be the solution?
I am sorry for my semi-professioalism (or quarter-professionalism :-) ). But all the more I appreciate your help!

(As for upgrading to Joomla 1.7.3: Yes, of course. But I have a number of 1.5.xx-sites running with some very special extra programming which most probably will not work with 1.7.3, so migrating to Joomla 1.7 with these sites will be more work than I can afford at the moment... )

JV Tabs module not displaying any parameters
i just downloaded the JV tabs module, and after installing the module, i don't see any module parameters /categories to choose from for my articles to display
