403 Error Code when upload file in Joomla's Media Manager

Hi,

My media manager will not allow me to upload images / files. It displays that its uploading and on completion just gives a 403 error.

I need someone to fix this. I’m sure its very simple but I dont have the time to do the other forums searching etc to find a fix.

I am hoping one of you Joomla Pros or JoomVision Staff knows how to resolve the issue quickly and simply.

This is a common problem and I don't think it needs to pay to be fixed

Follow my guide here: You need to add the following lines to your .htaccess file. The 403 is an HTTP error code specifying a forbidden action. This code in the .htaccess file corrects it. It is not related at all to FTP, which is a different protocol.

Here are the lines you need to add:

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
